ICAS offers members of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) or Chartered Institute of Public Financial Accountants (CIPFA) the opportunity to become a member with ICAS through the Pathways Route.
You may be eligible to apply for the Pathways Route to ICAS membership if you:
- Are a member of Good Standing with ACCA or CIPA and have maintained membership since qualifying
- Have been a member for 5 years or more (excluding career and maternity/paternity breaks)
- Have completed the full UK ACCA or CIPFA qualification through the bodies’ approved examination route
- Have maintained membership since qualifying

If you are eligible you will also need to complete the following requirements to obtain ICAS membership:
- Complete the Test of Relevant Expertise
- Provide two sponsors who are either members of ICAS, or a body with a reciprocal membership with ICAS (ICEAW, CAI, CPA Canada, CAANZ, HKICPA, SAICA).
As an ICAS member, if you intend to practice under our Public Practice Regulations, you will also be required to obtain a practising certificate (PC). Details of the practising certificate and how to apply for one can be found on the Practicing Certificate page.
