    Chair of Research Panel and Chair of the Shaping the Profession Steering Group , ICASHaving retired from Deloitte in August 2017, James is an Honorary Professor at the Adam Smith Business School at the University of Glasgow, where he is also a part-time doctoral researcher focusing on audit judgment. He is working with ICAS as Moderator of the TPS Assurance and Business Systems examinations, and a member of the working group on Corporate Reporting.

His work has been published in leading journals, presented at major international conferences, and recognised through awards and competitive funding, including ICAS’s Shaping the Profession initiative.

  • Terri Costello CAPartner, Head of Claims & Incentives, T&L, KPMGTerri leads technology and transformation for KPMG’s corporate tax compliance business, focusing on using AI and advanced technologies to automate processes, improve accuracy, and meet HMRC requirements. A Chartered Accountant, she combines deep tax expertise with innovation, and also leads KPMG’s Claims and Incentives practice, advising clients on R&D tax incentives, Patent Box, and capital allowances to unlock value from innovation and investment,
