Former ICAS Chief Executive Bruce Cartwright CA has been appointed the next Chair of Audit Scotland, taking up the role from 1 October and succeeding Colin Crosby CA OBE, who was formerly a member of the ICAS Council.

Bruce served as ICAS CEO for eight years, during which time he helped steer significant organisational modernisation, while also leading ICAS and its community through the complexities and pressures of the unprecedented Covid-19 years.

Bruce qualified as a CA in 1989 with PwC, where he spent most of his professional career in its restructuring team, becoming a senior partner in 2001. An experienced ICAS committee and ICAS council member from 2008 to 2014, Bruce chaired the Insolvency Committee, the Technical Committee and played a leading role in many ICAS initiatives before becoming Executive Director of Policy Leadership in 2017.

ICAS congratulates Bruce on his new appointment and thanks him for his many years of leadership and dedicated service to the organisation. ICAS looks forward to continuing our strong relationship with Audit Scotland.
