Guide, grow and give back – it's time to take your seat on ICAS Council
Find out more about ICAS Council, the benefits of getting involved and why you’d be the ideal candidate.
Here we outline the role of Council, how getting involved will benefit you personally and professionally and how to submit your nomination.
What is ICAS Council?
Council's volunteer members range from early career CAs to established business leaders. They help set and oversee our strategy.
Their insights and experience are central to the delivery of key ICAS objectives, from ethical leadership to exceptional CA training and continued value for your membership.
What's in it for me?
Here are some of the ways you could benefit from volunteering with ICAS Council:
-
Grow your career: Enhance and develop skills from leadership to teamworking to expand your CV and grow your career.
-
Grow your network: Collaborate with top CAs from a variety of sectors to grow your personal brand and your professional network.
-
Guide the profession: Take an active role in setting ICAS strategy and guiding the future direction of your profession.
-
Give back: Take pride in actively giving back to your profession and helping to empower the next generation.
-
Stay on the pulse: Hear new perspectives and keep up with developments in the profession and out in the wider marketplace.
-
Complete your CPD: Meet some of your annual CPD requirements through the tasks you undertake on Council.
Am I the right candidate?
Yes. The broader the input, the stronger Council will be and the better it will serve the wider ICAS membership. That means we need nominations from CAs at all stages of their careers, from all sectors and with all kinds of lived experience – and that makes you the ideal candidate.
How much time will I have to commit?
Members of Council are required to attend four full-day meetings per year, one of which will be in London. They’re also expected to join at least one ICAS Board or Committee when a vacancy for a Council member arises.

How to submit your nomination

If there are more nominations than vacancies for any Council seat, we’ll hold a first-past-the-post election.
