On this episode of the podcast, Indy is joined by Starbucks Finance Director EMEA, Jonny Jacobs CA.

Podcast host Indy Singh Hothi CA is joined by Starbucks Finance Director EMEA Jonny Jacobs CA to discuss his work championing mental health awareness in business. This episode was recorded in November 2019.

Jonny trained with KPMG where he first experienced working with clients in the food and drinks industry.

He then moved on to spend time at Heineken and John Menzies before joining pladis, the global snack company, which brings together iconic brands including McVitie's, Carr’s and Godiva chocolate. He held roles across the business from Supply Chain Finance Director to Interim CFO for pladis N. America to Strategy and Transformation Director for pladis UK.

It was during his eight years at the snacks company that Jonny began his work in promoting awareness of mental health in the workplace. As the Executive Board sponsor for Mental Health, he led the Employee Mental Health & Wellbeing initiative across the UK & Ireland. This led to the nationwide “Let’s Talk” partnership with McVitie’s and mental health charity Mind.

His passion for the subject led to Jonny being named One Young CA 2017.

Jonny recently took on the role of Finance Director at Starbucks EMEA and in 2019, Jonny was appointed as a Non-Exec of the Mental Health Foundation, the UK’s leading charity for everyone’s mental health.

He uses his position as an advocate across many forums including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Goalkeepers, the global summit for young leaders One Young World and the MadWorld Mental Health Summit.
