ICAS gives members the option to apply for a reduced subscription or to have their fees waived, depending on their expected income or health.

If you expect to earn less than £30,500, you can apply for a reduced subscription. This is based on your expected income for the subscription year from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026.

ICAS defines expected annual income as 'any earned income from current employment net of expenses, but without any deduction for taxation.

This does not include pensions, state benefits, statutory maternity/paternity pay and any student loans, bursaries or stipends. You may apply for a reduced subscription if your income is above the threshold, but you have exceptional circumstances that make paying the full fee difficult.

If you are suffering from ill-health or financial hardship, you may be eligible to apply for a full waiver of your subscription fees.
