Overview
This course is ideal if you are new to your role as company secretary; advising on company secretary functions; are moving into this role for the first time. You will examine the scope and limitations of the company secretarial role with a practical focus on how to set up and run a private company and annual obligations/filing events.

- Company formation (choices, practicalities, information requirements - with a practical focus on recent Webfiling developments at Companies House)
- Articles of Association
- Role of directors and the company secretary
- Execution of deeds and documents (including e- signature)
- Holding of board and shareholder meetings (including written resolutions)
- Maintenance of statutory registers and ongoing Webfilings with Companies House
- Business events and milestones (appreciating issues surrounding share transfers, confirmation statement, accounts)
- Updates to Companies House procedures and to Companies Act 2006 as and when implemented pursuant to ECCTA 2023
