ICAS offers members of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) who are registered with ICAS, as a Recognised Supervisor Body, as a Responsible Individual (RI), the opportunity to become a member with ICAS without any further assessment requirements.
You may be eligible to apply for this pathway to ICAS membership if you:
- Are a member of Good Standing with ACCA and have maintained membership since qualifying
- Work in a firm with at least one ICAS member holding RI status with ICAS
- Hold an RI or Principle status with ICAS
- Have been a member for 5 years or more (excluding career and maternity/paternity breaks)
- Have completed the full UK ACCA qualification through ACCAs approved examination route
- Have been awarded the Audit Qualification by ACCA
- Have maintained membership with ACCA since qualifying
If you are an ACCA member and meet the above requirements, please contact us for an application pack together with a letter of Good Standing from ACCA and your full academic transcript.
As part of your application, ICAS will confirm with ACCA that the information provided in your application is correct.
If you are eligible you will also need to complete the following requirements to obtain ICAS membership:
- Provide two sponsors, one of which must be an ICAS member holding RI status with ICAS and the other either a member of ICAS, or a body with a reciprocal membership with ICAS (ICEAW, CAI, CPA Canada, CAANZ, HKICPA, SAICA).
As an RI and ICAS member, under our Public Practice Regulations, you will also be required to obtain a practising certificate (PC). Details of the practising certificate and how to apply for one can be found on the Practicing Certificate page.
