The ICAS Sustainability Committee aims to increase awareness of current issues pertaining to environmental and other sustainability issues among ICAS and its members, and to review the ICAS position on sustainability matters influencing the business community and wider public.
The Committee achieves these aims by:
- Shaping and influencing the ICAS Sustainability Strategy
- Influencing the development of impactful policy and good practice on sustainability matters through contributions to consultation responses, research, policy positions, thought leadership and activities for SMEs/members
- Advising on syllabus content for the ICAS curriculum and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and offering insights
- Supporting ICAS social change initiatives such as the EDI strategy, ICAS Foundation and SCABA
- Encouraging ICAS to demonstrate its own commitment to sustainability and to set an appropriate example to its members and the wider business community including advising on ICAS’ Net Zero approach and best practice
- Supporting engagement with members on current / emerging developments in sustainability through contributing to content creation, promoting content including CPD and engaging committee members’ own networks
