The ICAS Foundation is our social mobility charity. Learn more
Supported by us and our members, the Foundation aims to develop future leaders by identifying and supporting talented young people from lower socio-economic backgrounds as they seek to enter the accountancy profession.
This work aims to reduce barriers, widen access and improve diversity in the sector.
For students studying accountancy or finance at university undergraduate level, the Foundation provides a place on its “Nurturing Talent Programme”. This includes:
-
An annual bursary award for up to four years.
-
One-to-one mentoring by a CA.
-
Support in finding internship and graduate employment opportunities.
-
A programme of personal and career development support.
"Our students, graduates, and newly qualified CAs continue to inspire us. Their success is a testament to their hard work and the impact of the Foundation’s support network."
How you can help the Foundation
As an independently registered charity, the Foundation delivers its services thanks to the generosity of ICAS members, accountancy firms and partnerships with universities.
You can help the Foundation in several ways:
Donate
Each student is awarded up to £2,500 per year, or up to £10,000 over the duration of their studies. This money is funded by the donations received from our members, corporate sponsors and other supporters. You can donate today through the ICAS Foundation website.
Mentor
All ICAS Foundation students are matched with an individual mentor, providing support for the student’s personal and career development. Mentoring takes around one to two hours per month. Find out more about this volunteer role on the Foundation website.
Advocate
The Foundation is always keen to hear from corporate or other partners who can help assist with its social mobility work. This can range from financial support for student bursaries, to offering internships and access to career development programmes.
