Extending the qualification clock for 2024
We’re giving students whose qualification clock has expired or is due to expire in 2024 more time to complete the CA qualification.
Last year we replaced the subject-specific assessment clock with the new 7-year qualification clock to make it easier to track your progress through the CA qualification.
7-year qualification clock
Your 7-year qualification clock begins at the start of your training contract.
In this time, you must complete the syllabus and relevant practical experience (RPE) requirements of the CA qualification.
In the unlikely event that you don’t manage to complete all the requirements before your qualification clock expires, you can request an extension through a written request to ICAS (section 10.2 of the student handbook).
On track to complete the CA qualification by 31 December 2024?
This change might affect you if you’re on track to complete the CA qualification in 2024 but your qualification clock either has or is going to expire before you’re able to complete the final requirements this year.
We’re giving students up to and including 31 December 2024 to complete any final assessments or RPE requirements.
If you’re on track to complete all the requirements by 31 December 2024 you don’t need to submit a request.
Not going to complete the CA qualification by 31 December 2024?
If your qualification clock has or is due to expire in 2024, and you won’t complete the CA qualification requirements until after 31 December 2024, contact students@icas.com for more information.
