Goodbye myCABLE, hello Advantage

On 10 July, myCABLE will be replaced by Advantage – the new home for everything you’ll need throughout your CA training.

On Monday 10 July, we'll say goodbye to myCABLE and hello to Advantage – the new home for everything you need throughout your training. The switchover will be automatic and without disruption to you or your studies.

Everything in one place

With Advantage, all the courses, learning materials, updates and resources you need are together in one easy-to-navigate location.

Advantage’s features and resources includes:

• Announcements
• Courses and course resources
• The logbook (from August 2023)
• Assessments (guidance and key resources)
• Technical discussions with tutors
• Your student handbook, the help centre and contact links
• Student Assistance Programme

Find your way around

Use the menu at the top of the Advantage homepage to find what you need.

• Announcements – pay attention to the bell icon in the top right. An orange dot next to it means you’ve got a new announcement about your courses or assessments.
• My Courses – this is where you’ll find all your courses and learning materials, including the Fundamentals (see more on this below).
• Communication – ways to stay updated on what’s happening in your courses, ICAS and the wider worlds of business and finance.
• About You – this is where you can view your timetable, apply for or manage a reasonable adjustment, access your free Office 365 resources, and update your ICAS profile.
• Resources – here you’ll find guidance specific to your syllabus level, alongside yearly planners with key class and assessment dates.
• Help – links to our help centre, the Student Assistance Programme and additional wellbeing resources.
• Assessments – go here to book an assessment, access the assessment platform and for assessment guidance and resources for your syllabus level.

Understanding the Fundamentals

The bite-sized modules in our new Fundamentals course will guide you through the ICAS essentials, from our CA syllabus to assessments.

They’ll get you ready to go and will be there throughout your training, so you’re always up to date.

Here’s a summary of what you’ll find in each of the Fundamentals modules:

• Assessments – in this module you’ll find step-by-step guidance to get you ready for assessment day, plus video guides, our assessment policies and links to our online platform.
• Wellbeing - in this module you’ll find guidance and resources designed to support various aspects of your wellbeing, alongside support from our Student Assistance Programme.
• Study your qualification – in this module you’ll find detailed guides to each level of the syllabus, plus how to apply for a reasonable adjustment.

How do I access Advantage?

Log in at https://advantage.icas.com/.

What details will I use to log in? 

Use your ICAS email and its password, just as you did for myCABLE.

What will happen to my courses and progress from myCABLE?

All your courses, progress and materials will automatically transfer to Advantage on 10 July.

Do I need to do anything to prepare?

No. The switchover on 10 July will be automatic, and you won’t need to do anything.

Will I still find resources and guidance at icas.com? 

So that everything you need is in one place, we’ll be moving it all to Advantage. All the resources and guidance you need can either be accessed from the Home page menu or you'll fine them in your Fundamentals course (see our guide below).
