Help us help you become a CA
With our 2024 student survey about to launch, we outline how your feedback helps shape your ICAS experience and the various ways you can share your views.
The CA qualification is a challenging yet rewarding journey. That’s why we’re always looking for opportunities to improve your ICAS experience and your feedback helps in that process.
Whether it’s completing an end of course survey, the annual student survey or taking part in a focus group, giving honest, constructive feedback is a powerful way to improve your student experience.
Here we explain why your input is important, how you can share your feedback and how it’s used.
Why your input is important
As a CA student, you have a firsthand understanding of what’s working and what we could do to improve your experience. By sharing your feedback with us, you’re helping us to understand what works for you and make informed decisions about what we should consider improving.
And when you share the ‘why’ behind your answer, it gives us a clearer picture of what you’d like to see.
Opportunities to share your feedback
There are several opportunities to share your feedback throughout the year. Each one is designed with its own purpose:
- End of course surveys
Towards the end of each term, you’ll get a short, course-specific survey for each course you sat. Here, you can share your thoughts about the course, assessments and communications. Your answers help us to make the necessary adjustments for future students – and for you if your feedback applies to more than one course.
- Annual survey
Once a year, we also ask for feedback on your overall student experience. This is a chance for you to step back and reflect. Sharing what you value most allows us to strengthen those areas, while also helping us to understand where there’s room for new ideas.
- Focus groups
Sometimes, we’ll invite you to join a focus groups, where you can share your thoughts directly with the ICAS team. You can discuss your feedback in more detail, focused on your general experience or take a deeper dive into a particular topic.
Making sure your feedback is constructive
Here are some tips for making sure your feedback is valuable:
- Be specific: Highlight what specifically worked or didn’t work and why.
- Celebrate what works: Positive feedback is just as helpful as suggestions for change. This helps us to understand what you want to see more of.
- Share your ideas: If you have an idea of how to make things better, please share this with us.
