ICAS submits letter to Scottish Government on COVID-19
ICAS Chief Executive J Bruce Cartwright CA has today submitted a letter to Scottish Government MSP Fiona Hyslop, Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Fair Work and Culture, to outline concerns and queries from ICAS members about COVID-19 support.
The letter follows feedback from ICAS members regarding their concerns and issues in maintaining their businesses and practices, and in supporting their clients, during the coronavirus lockdown.
Overall, there is a concern from members on the enormity of the future economic impact despite a huge government contribution to support.
ICAS does, however, welcome the wide-ranging support that has been made available to support business and understand the pressures to provide detailed guidance for a raft of new proposals.
Bruce Cartwright CA will be discussing these points with Ms Hyslop and other professional bodies at a CBI led meeting on 2 April 2020.
ICAS is also working with UK Government departments to interpret guidance into practical advice for our members. Keep an eye on our Coronavirus Hub for updates, advice and practical information.
ICAS members are encouraged to continue submitting their feedback, concerns and queries to Bruce by contacting us on members@icas.com.
