What you told us: latest Member survey results
Results from the latest ICAS Member satisfaction survey uncovered insights into our retired and international Members, alongside your views on our public-interest lobbying mandate, proposed membership classifications and your CPD activity.
What our retired Members told us
In the latest Member satisfaction survey, we took a deep dive into understanding the satisfaction and perceptions of our retired Members. Retired Members make up 19% of ICAS’ global membership, so it’s important to us that we understand and listen to their feedback.
The survey findings included:
83% of our retired Members are satisfied with the service that they receive from ICAS.
73% of our retired Members keep connected with ICAS by reading articles we produce online.
71% of our retired Members engaged with ICAS by reading CA magazine.
What you said about our public-interest mandate
ICAS continues to work to represent the profession and uphold our public-interest mandate and our survey found that 69% of our Members believe that ICAS has influence to lobby in the public interest.
Whether it be through our work with the UK Government, the Scottish Government or the European Commission, the ICAS policy team works to ensure that we act in the public interest and strives to build trust in the finance profession. Some recent publications that demonstrate this important work in action include:
New TPR powers under the Pension Schemes Act 2021 | ICAS

What you said about our proposed Fellowship
ICAS Members Board has been considering whether ICAS should implement a Fellowship route to membership. In order to survey our Members’ thoughts on this proposal, some related questions were included in this survey.
52% of Members stated that they would not support a new membership classification. This information will be fed back to Members Board to further consider at their next meeting, in March.
What our international Members told us
The survey found that our internationally based Members are 9% more satisfied with their ICAS membership than UK-based Members. ICAS has been placing more focus on adding value to Members based outside the UK and we have recently launched an international engagement strategy. If you would like to know more about this strategy, please contact the Member Engagement team at members@icas.com.
