ICAS celebrates Pride month 2021
Creating an equal, diverse and inclusive profession is a priority for ICAS.
We’re proud to support Pride month and the LGBT+ community. Pride started in America in 1969 and has since become a global celebration of LGBT+ communities around the world, while also being an opportunity to raise awareness of the issues facing the community across the world.
Hear from our President, Bruce Pritchard CA, on how ICAS is observing Pride.
In January this year, ICAS launched Championing Unique Perspectives - a content series that aims to profile its diverse membership while building awareness and possible solutions on the key themes of equality, diversity and inclusion (ED&I), integrating them into working practices.
The series also provides CAs with a platform to share some of the unique challenges, considerations and joys that they experience. In the series so far, we have been privileged to hear CAs giving their unique perspectives on topics including race, gender, age and disability.
During the month of June, the Championing Unique Perspectives series will feature the voices of LGBT+ Members as they tell their stories, giving fellow CAs an opportunity to learn from their experiences and discover ways in which they can support their LGBT+ colleagues.
Our commitment to ED&I
Following the creation of the ED+I Committee (formerly the Guthrie Group), ICAS has renewed its focus on promoting ED&I to ensure that the accountancy profession and the wider businesses landscape is accessible to all.
Comprising ICAS members and staff, the Committee is taking forward our agenda of embedding a culture of equality, diversity and inclusion within ICAS and our wider profession.
ICAS places equality, diversity and inclusion at the heart of all that we do. With our partner organisations, we are committed to building a diverse membership and workforce that is beneficial for all, and that enables our communities to learn, grow and advance together.
