ICAS 2020 AGM and election results
The 2020 ICAS Annual General Meeting was held online on 24 April.
In order to comply with COVID-19 social-distancing restrictions, the 2020 ICAS AGM was held online. The proxy voting and in-person voting results on each Resolution were announced and both were carried. The results were:

Receive and approve the Annual Report and Consolidated Financial Statements

To approve the appointment of Martin Gill, BDO LLP as Auditor to the Institute

Office Bearer & Council election results
The results of the ICAS Office Bearer and Council elections were also announced.
Election of Office Bearers – President
Catherine Burnet CA was confirmed as President for 2020/2021.
Election of Office Bearers – Deputy President
The successful candidate in the Deputy President election was Bruce Pritchard CA. The voting results were:
Total Number of Votes Cast was 2322.
The number of votes cast in favour of Bruce Pritchard CA was 1166.
The number of votes cast in favour of Bill Drysdale CA MBE was 1156.
Bruce Pritchard CA was confirmed as Deputy President for 2020/2021.
Election of Office Bearers – Vice President
Indy Hothi CA was confirmed as Vice President for 2020/21.
Election of Council Members – Open Seat position
The Open Seat position received two nominations, and an election was held. The successful candidate was Louise Page CA. The results were:
Total Number of Votes Cast was 2,061.
The number of votes cast in favour of Louise Page CA was 1,636.
The number of votes cast in favour of Mr Lynde CA was 425.
Election of Council Members – Electoral Area Seat positions
- Scotland East – Margaret Bunyan CA was the only nominee and was confirmed as elected unopposed.
- England, Wales and Northern Ireland – there were two vacant seats. Michael Kay CA was the only nominee and was confirmed as elected unopposed. The Nominations Committee will recommend a member to Council to fill the vacancy.
- Scotland North – no nominations were received, and the seat remains vacant. The Nominations Committee will recommend a member to Council to fill this vacancy.
BDO as ICAS auditor confirmed that all those who voted in the election are valid voting members of ICAS and that the election was carried out in accordance with ICAS Regulations.
