A long-term investment:
When you renew your ICAS membership, you’re making a long-term investment in your career, our support and the profession itself.
Like most businesses, we’ve been impacted by rising costs and need to respond accordingly.
Targeted efficiencies have helped but are insufficient on their own if we’re to maintain our commitment to quality membership and services.
ICAS Council took the decision to increase fees for 2024 by 5.75% to £550 which equates to an increase of £30 – the smallest-possible increase without affecting our support and services and below the current rate of inflation.
It’s just 56 pence extra per week for year-round access to professional resources, technical guidance, free events and webinars, and to have ICAS speak on your behalf and promote the interests of the profession. A small investment that will reap far greater rewards.
Regulatory fees
Most of our regulatory fees – including the practising certificate fee – will increase by 5.75% in 2024, in line with the member subscription. However, in response to increasing regulatory costs – particularly oversight costs – ICAS Council has decided to vary the position for Insolvency Practitioners and Audit firms, with new fee-scales to be confirmed when the Annual Renewal opens in November and at the point of invoicing.
Again, we believe that we are applying the smallest-possible increases required to maintain current high standards.
Retirement age
To bring us in line with the UK state pension age, we’re increasing the age at which members no longer pay fees from 65 to 66. Reduced subscriptions for those retiring before that date will still be available.
Extra help with paying your membership fees
For your 2024 membership you can spread the payment of your fees over twelve-monthly or four-quarterly instalments. And if you’re facing financial hardship or ill-health, reduced rates and special waivers are available.
The Scottish Chartered Accountants’ Benevolent Association (SCABA) is a charity which supports CAs and may be able to provide assistance in the form of grants, loans and support if you are struggling financially.
Please note: Since this article was published, SCABA has been reborn as ICAS Cares. The name and look may be new, but the charity’s purpose remains the same.
Membership Annual Renewal opens in November
We’ll be in touch in the next few weeks with more information and asking you to review your payment options ahead of the 2024 membership Annual Renewal, which opens in November 2023.
