Our latest cohort of newly qualified CAs represent a new wave, breaking into the profession with fresh perspectives and innovative ideas. The March edition of CA magazine provides an opportunity to celebrate this next generation of CAs.
The second of our new special reports introduces a few young CAs to keep an eye on as they take the first steps in their careers. We also delve into the digital transformation ICAS is embarking on to prepare future CAs for the demands of an evolving business landscape.
ICAS is about to embark on a period of profound change. This month’s issue of CA magazine delves into what exactly those changes will mean for the future of this organisation. As part of a special report on the next generation of CAs, Executive Director of Learning Gail Boag reveals how we will deliver the CA qualification, with a new “digital first” emphasis, but with no compromise in our values, standards and quality.
One of the catalysts for this sea change was the pandemic and the overnight shift to online learning. Three years on from the first period of lockdown, ICAS CEO Bruce Cartwright CA reflects on how events since then have changed us both professionally and personally.
The annual ICAS admission ceremony takes place on 25 March. We speak to newly qualified CAs to find out what makes them tick and about the professional impact they want to make on the wider world.
The admission ceremony holds a special place in the ICAS events calendar. Last year saw the return of this event after a two-year pause due to the pandemic. We produced a celebratory video of the occasion, which you can view here. We look forward to meeting all our newly qualified members and their families later this month and welcoming them into the profession.
Sustainability has also been a key factor in our reassessment of the role of ICAS and the CA qualification in the years to come, as well as ongoing developments in technology.
We also believe our more experienced CAs have a lot to offer the next generation, especially when it comes to providing sage career advice. Having a CA for a mentor can be invaluable, but it’s also a two-way street that allows senior CAs to learn from their younger peers.
