Where are we now? Find out how far the ICAS Well Together participants had travelled up until 7 February 2021
Get the latest update on the progress of our virtual wellbeing journey around the world, find out how far we have left to go and how you can get involved.
In the two weeks since our last update, the ICAS Members participating in our global wellbeing journey have combined to clock up an additional 7346km.
In total the journey has covered sufficient kilometres in just four weeks to take us from our starting point at CA House in Edinburgh (pretty much) to Mount Everest on the border of Nepal and Tibet.
That’s quite an achievement and a fair distance for just four weeks of walking, wheeling, running, cycling, swimming and strolling.
How far have we travelled together?
13,386km - the total distance covered by all six ICAS Strava Clubs up until Sunday 7 February 2021.
How far do we have left to go?
26,689km - the distance remaining for us to get all the way around the world. Together we can do it!
Where are we now?
Here are some of the places we've virtually travelled through recently:
» Aglantzia, Cyprus – Home of SKA Accounting, whose MD is Stavros Kyriakides CA. Stavros is one of ICAS' Europe Ambassadors, influential individuals who offer their knowledge and expertise to help raise the profile of ICAS within their local CA community.
» Dubai, UAE – Here you might bump into Nick McGlinchey CA, Business Restructuring Services Manager at PwC. He's just one of the many young CAs who have shared details of their amazing career journeys through our CA Stories campaign, to help attract and inspire the next generation of Chartered Accountants.
» Islamabad, Pakistan – Formed in 1961, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) is the country’s statutory and regulatory body for the accounting profession. Like ICAS, ICAP is one of the 14 world-leading institutes of Chartered Accountants that make up Chartered Accountants Worldwide, representing over 750,000 global CAs.
» Mount Everest – For a brief moment on 18 May 2018 Ricky Munday CA was the highest ICAS Member and, of course, the highest person on earth. That was the day he added his name to the elite list of mountaineers who have successfully summited the world’s tallest peak. As a public speaker and founder of Inspire Alpine, Ricky uses his Everesting, and his many other achievements, to help inspire young people to achieve their own personal ambitions and reach their full potential.
