Where are we now? Find out how far the ICAS Well Together participants had travelled up until 21 February 2021
Get the latest update on the progress of our virtual wellbeing journey around the world, find out how far we have left to go and how you can get involved.
In the two weeks since our last update, the ICAS Members participating in our global wellbeing journey have combined to clock up an astounding additional 8,100km.
In total the journey has covered more than enough kilometres in just six weeks to take us from our starting point at CA House in Edinburgh all the way to Indonesia.
That’s quite an achievement, especially so given the horrendous weather we've 'enjoyed' in large parts of the UK over the last few weeks.
How far have we travelled together?
21,486km - the total distance covered by all six ICAS Strava Clubs up until Sunday 21 February 2021.
How far do we have left to go?
18,589km - the distance remaining for us to get all the way around the world. Together we can do it!
Where are we now?
Here are some of the places we've virtually travelled through recently:
» Bangladesh – The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) promotes, develops and regulates the accountancy profession in Bangladesh. Like ICAS, ICAB is one of the 14 world-leading institutes of Chartered Accountants that make up Chartered Accountants Worldwide, representing over 750,000 global CAs.
» Bangkok, Thailand – In 2015, fresh off of winning ICAS' inaugural One Young CA accolade, Indy Hothi CA, now ICAS Vice President, represented ICAS at the One Young World summit, which was held in Bangkok. Indy is a member of the ICAS London Strava Club. Why not connect with him there, share some kudos and give a little boost to your wellbeing.
» Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – KL is home to Nick Liew CA, Head Commercial Venture Builder for Petronas. In a recent CA magazine feature, Klang Valley Tales, Nick told us all about life in Malaysia and the career twists and turns that led him there.
» Singapore – Whilst Grant Thornton Assurance Director Graham Stirling CA revels in the business opportunities afforded by Singapore, it’s the local food that has him hooked. As he recently told CA magazine, “If you’re a foodie, Singapore is absolutely fantastic. It’s such a multicultural country, a real fusion of food cultures.”
» Indonesia – Another of the Chartered Accountants Worldwide member bodies, Ikatan Akuntan Indonesia (Institute of Indonesia Chartered Accountants or IAI) is the country's recognised professional accountancy organisation. Established in December 1957, IAI continues to serve and develop the Indonesian accountancy profession.
Indonesia is also a country where you might bump into Stewart Langdon CA, partner and Co-Head of Asia investments at LeapFrog, a world leader in emerging markets.
