New look for the Agent Services Account
HMRC has redesigned the Agent Services Account. Philip McNeill takes a look at the new layout.
Scheduled for roll-out between 3 and 5 February, the Agent Services Account (ASA) is having a makeover. Changes should happen overnight, to minimise possible disruption and HMRC has shared some screenshots of the new design.
With a VAT filing deadline on 7 February, don’t be caught unawares. The main changes are a new homepage accordion layout and welcome banner. The client authorisation section has moved to the top and there is a new expandable section below listing the key services which are available. The content remains largely unchanged.
Under the ‘Other tax services’ is a new section which includes links to legacy services which are not currently accessed through the ASA. These revisions are part of a series of ongoing changes in response to user feedback
Giving feedback
The ASA is part of your working environment and your feedback is vital if improvements are to be a success. With representation on numerous HMRC committees, ICAS is well placed to provide HMRC with feedback from Members and Firms. So please let us know what you think.
Digital taxation is an iterative process. Though new systems have a start date, continuous improvement is the order of the day. Well informed ongoing change will enhance the work interface. Be part of that process.
