New ICAS insight series focuses on Finance + Leadership
Discover more about Finance + Leadership, the theme throughout July and August as part of ICAS’ 2022 Finance+ insight series.
Throughout the months of July and August, we will be bringing you thought leadership, insight and practical guidance around the theme of leadership, and exploring its impact on our profession today and in the future.
Finance + Leadership – what to expect
As we emerge from the pandemic and enter a phase of recovery, leaders will be required to reframe their strategic approach and adapt to the ‘new normal’. Throughout July and August, the ICAS Finance+ insight series will explore leadership with this cultural shift in mind and provide insight from thought leaders and experts into how leaders can respond to the challenges and opportunities presented.
With many organisations introducing hybrid working practices, leaders must acknowledge that the employee experience goes beyond the workplace. Leading Figures, a coaching and consulting firm that provides services to clients in the finance sector, will deliver a webinar, Hybrid Leadership in a Changing World, to explain the skills and attributes required for effective leadership in a hybrid world. The session will act as a taster in advance of the upcoming Autumn ICAS Leadership Coaching Programmes for Aspiring and Executive Leaders.
ICAS will also examine the topics of inclusive and ethical leadership and consider how the role of the CFO can be future proofed to adapt to volatility, whilst signposting resources for both personal and professional development in the leadership sphere.

In contrast to the long-held view that leadership needs to be ruthless, the pandemic has shown the opposite to be the case. The inspiring Pinky Lilani CBE explains why kindness is the greatest leadership quality.
Nurturing leadership is also of great interest to Saïd Business School’s Andrew White, who talks to CA mag about the external factors that have radically changed the business landscape and have meant today’s leaders need very different skills from those of a decade ago.
Leaders will need to find opportunities to recharge and adapt to the recent sea changes in business. Find out how Giles Hutchins, founder of Leadership Immersions, helps stressed CEOs to reset by taking them back to nature.
This month’s issue also includes a deep dive into the skills and attributes the CAs of the future will require to keep their businesses competitive and agile. One such – leadership in a hybrid world – is covered in a discussion between the Leading Figures team and ICAS Deputy President, Clive Bellingham CA.
Andrew and Giles are included among the list of featured speakers at the upcoming 2022 CA Summit on 4-6 October. Register now to hear more about the changing face of leadership.
