Anderson Strathern’s Gillian Harkness-McKinlay provides a comprehensive overview of key changes to charity law arising from the Charities (Regulation and Administration) (Scotland) Act 2023 and look ahead to anticipated future reforms.
Gillian also covers key aspects of the 2023 Act including the publication of charity trustee names on the Scottish Charity Register and a new duty requiring OSCR to make the trustees’ annual reports, and accounts of all Scottish charities publicly available.
OSCR’s Martin Tyson provides an update on the steps OSCR has taken to support the implementation of the 2023 Act. He also discusses how OSCR is pursuing its updated regulatory priorities for 2024 to 2026 and shares insights into the roll out of OSCR’s updated annual return.
