Introducing Advantage – our new home for everything students need
Our virtual learning environment myCABLE is changing to Advantage, the new home for everything a student needs throughout their training.
Through our Strategy 2030, we’re evolving and innovating to enhance the experience of our students. As part of these enhancements, we’re launching Advantage.
The replacement to our myCABLE virtual learning environment, Advantage will be the new home for everything students will need throughout their CA training.
A simplified experience
Whereas previously, students might have had to jump between multiple platforms and websites, with Advantage, all the information, learning materials, updates and resources they need will be together in one easy-to-navigate location.
Advantage’s features and resources includes:
- Communications
- Timetables
- Courses
- Exemptions and reasonable adjustments
- The logbook
- Assessments and assessment guidance
- Technical discussions with tutors
- The student handbook
- The help centre
- Contact links
- Wellbeing support
When will students get access to Advantage?
- 5 June for new students
New students registered with ICAS from 5 June will be given immediate access to Advantage, where they can take our new Fundamentals onboarding course (see below).
- 10 July for current students
Current ICAS students who were registered before 5 June will continue using the myCABLE platform until 10 July when it will automatically switch to Advantage.
Students don’t need to do anything to prepare. They’ll log in as normal at https://mycable.icas.com/ using their ICAS email and password, and all their courses, progress and materials will be there to pick up where they left off.
The only change they might notice before 10 July will be that they are re-directed to an Advantage URL after logging in.
We’ll be sharing an overview of the coming changes in this month’s CA Student newsletter and will give students more information closer to the July switchover.
Whitelist the Advantage URL

It starts with the Fundamentals
New students registered from 5 June will begin their ICAS journey in Advantage by taking our new Fundamentals onboarding course. The bite-sized modules explain how everything works, from applying for exemptions and reasonable adjustments, to the syllabus and assessments. They'll get students ready to go and be there for reference throughout their training.
Students can take the Fundamentals course immediately upon registering and we recommend they complete it before starting any of the syllabus courses.
Among other topics, the Fundamentals course introduces students to:
- The CA qualification and syllabus
- The Relevant Practical Experience logbook
- Applying for exemptions
- Applying for reasonable adjustments
- How to contact ICAS and stay updated
- Preparing for online assessments
- Wellbeing advice and the Student Assistance Programme
