The ICAS CA Practitioner Service assists its members to provide a high quality and cost-effective service to their clients through the provision of practical guidance, toolkits and confidential advice.

With over 175 member firms within the United Kingdom CAPS voices the interests of its members within the profession and with other regulators.

Types of membership

Full membership

A firm entitled to call itself 'Chartered Accountants' including entities such as Limited Liability Partnerships or Limited Companies with a minimum of 50% of Principals as ICAS members.

Associate membership

Any firm not entitled to call itself 'Chartered Accountants' but which has one principal who is an ICAS member or any firm whose partner or directors are members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales or of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland who may use the designation 'Chartered Accountants'.

An associate member qualifies for all the benefits of full members with the exception that use of the CA logos is not permitted.

Annual subscription

1 partner £320 + VAT
2-3 partners £485 + VAT
4-6 partners £710 + VAT
7+ partners £1,010 + VAT

A 20% first-year discount is available for established firms joining CAPS.
A 40% first-year discount (and 20% second-year discount) is available for newly formed firms joining CAPS.
