Overview
This half day update course reflects on common accounting issues alongside contemporary issues, to help finance professionals effectively manage the operations and finances of the Charity.
Charity accountants face an ongoing challenge to keep abreast of changes to standards and regulations and to produce financial statements which fairly reflects the performance and position of the charity.
This course highlights tricky accounting areas and looks at some ways charities can prepare themselves for a world which is more and more unpredictable.

After attending the seminar, you will be able to:
- Understand the approach taken by the SORP Committee to develop the latest Charities SORP
- Discuss the latest proposed changes to the upcoming edition of the Charities SORP
- Tackle some of the more complex accounting areas, specifically around income recognition and the Trustees’ Annual Report
- Appreciate how events, such as the recent pandemic, the various conflicts across the globe, and advancements in technology, may impact a charity’s strategy and their financial statements.
