About the opportunity
Hays Senior Finance are recruiting on behalf of their prestigious public sector client based in Dundee for a permanent Project Accountant to join their team. Salary is £46,000 - £54,000 depending on experience + hybrid working (2 in office / 3 from home), 39 days annual leave and a highly competitive pension contribution of 20%.
About the role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for leading the financial integrity of various projects from costing through to completion and all related accounting & audit. You will complete budgeting & forecasting, cash-flow & monthly management accounting including all related analysis. You will be a strong finance business partner providing sound technical financial & accounting advice to various non-financial stakeholders. You will also lead on the provision of reporting & process & system improvement. You will do this with the support of a team of accounts assistants that you will be in charge of managing.
About the individual
You will be a Qualified Accountant with a strong technical accounting background. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to relay financial information to non-financial stakeholders. You will ideally have project accounting experience, however this is not essential. You will have experience in staff mentoring / supervision / management. You will have strong IT skills including Excel.
