About the opportunity
Hutcheon Mearns have been exclusively engaged by an oil service company to source a Group Accountant on a full time, staff basis. This role will be based in Kintore with hybrid and flexible working. This role will be responsible for coordinating the financial reporting and consolidation process for the group, supporting the annual audit process, assisting with preparation of the group cashflow forecast and internal audit testing. To be considered, you will be Qualified or Part Qualified with financial accounting experience.
About the role
Group Reporting
- Prepare consolidated financial results; profit and loss account, balance sheet, and cashflow statement. Ensure that all elimination entries are processed with appropriate support/records for adjusting entries
- Prepare capital expenditure monitoring reports, including monthly additions summary and AFE approval tracking
- Coordinate monthly update of the group revenue forecast file including order backlog and comparison to budget/prior forecast
- Monitoring of corporate indirect cost accounts; prepare monthly summary report and identify any significant variances to plan
- Assist with the yearly financial audit package including preparation of lead schedules and consolidated fixed asset notes
- Complete other corporate reporting tasks in respect to intercompany eliminations, foreign exchange monitoring report and submissions to the risk management group
Cashflow Reporting and Treasury
- Assist with the preparation of the group monthly cash flow forecast, consolidating submissions from each region and identifying movements, trends and other analysis
- Update weekly monitoring and dashboard reports for cash collections
Internal Audit and Controls
- Work closely with Financial Controller to maintain the Internal Controls framework
- Assist with internal audits of regional finance teams to monitor compliance with group policies and procedures; report and identify areas for improvement
About the individual
- Financial accounting experience
- Fully Qualified or Part Qualified
- Competent in the use of Excel
- Highly motivated and able to use own initiative
- Ability to prioritise workload and excellent organisational skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy skills
- Forthcoming with ideas to improve our services
- Having the ability to work in a team and communicate with all levels of staff
